Covered pergola deck

Spears residence

The pergola stayed; everything under it changed. Trex composite boards replace the painted deck, the blue-grey spindles give way to black aluminum, and the frame is restained charcoal so the structure reads as shade rather than trim.

Trex Enhance Naturals in Foggy Wharf, laid with a picture-frame border and hidden fasteners. The painted boards that were wearing through are gone; the driftwood grey picks up the house siding instead of fighting it, and it never needs repainting.

Douglas residence

The same Foggy Wharf boards carried across the full rear elevation and down the stairs, so the deck reads as one surface from the lawn rather than a patched repair.

Deck, steps & patio

Anderson residence

The Anderson deck before work: a low deck and two sets of steps stained rust-red, with matching red railings, beside a faded brick paver patio and a screened porch. The same deck after refinishing: warm honey-toned wood on the deck, steps and railings, with the brick pavers cleaned back to a warm terracotta. Before After

A refinish rather than a rebuild. The rust-red came off the deck, the steps and both rails, and everything went back down in a warm natural tone. The brick pavers were cleaned at the same time, so the corner reads as one outdoor room instead of two competing reds.

Screened porch

Anderson residence

The Anderson screened porch before work: a rust-red painted floor under white beadboard walls and a natural wood ceiling, looking out to woods. The same screened porch after: the floor refinished in warm honey-toned wood that carries out through the door to the deck beyond. Before After

The same treatment carried through the screen door. The red porch floor is refinished to match the deck outside, so the two read as one continuous surface rather than stopping at the threshold.
